Tales from a Not-So-Graceful Ice Princess (Dork Diaries #4)

Tales from a Not-So-Graceful Ice Princess – Rachel Renée Russell

Nikki Maxwell is excited about the holiday season, but things at Westchester Country Day Middle School never stay simple for long. When a local animal shelter that means a lot to her crush, Brandon, needs money to stay open, Nikki decides to help by entering an ice skating competition to raise funds. There is just one problem: Nikki is not exactly a graceful skater.

In Tales from a Not-So-Graceful Ice Princess, the fourth book in Rachel Renée Russell’s bestselling Dork Diaries series, Nikki chronicles her efforts to learn to skate, find costumes and prepare for the big event, all while trying to keep up with schoolwork and other responsibilities. Of course, her rival, the popular MacKenzie Hollister, is never far away, ready to cause trouble and steal the spotlight.

With the support of her loyal best friends, Chloe and Zoey, Nikki stumbles, slips and laughs her way through a series of hilarious mishaps, learning about teamwork, friendship and the importance of helping others along the way.

As with the other books in the series, the story is told through Nikki’s funny, heartfelt diary entries and illustrated throughout with her doodles and cartoons, making it especially appealing to young and reluctant readers.

Lighthearted and entertaining, Tales from a Not-So-Graceful Ice Princess is a great read for fans of the Dork Diaries series and for readers aged around nine to thirteen who enjoy humorous stories about middle school life. It can be enjoyed on its own or as part of the series.
