Mark Twain
Mark Twain (1835–1910), born Samuel Langhorne Clemens, was an iconic American writer, humorist, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer. Raised along the Mississippi River in Missouri, his early experiences as a steamboat pilot profoundly influenced his literary voice.
He achieved immortality as the author of timeless American masterpieces including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the latter hailed by Ernest Hemingway as the source of all modern American literature.
