Zero Limits – Joe Vitale
Joe Vitale, a marketing writer and self-help author who appeared in the film The Secret, heard a remarkable story: a psychologist in Hawaii was said to have helped heal a ward of mentally ill offenders without ever meeting them in a therapeutic session, simply by working on himself. Intrigued, Vitale sought out the psychologist, Ihaleakala Hew Len, and the result was Zero Limits: The Secret Hawaiian System for Wealth, Health, Peace, and More, written together.
The book introduces a version of Ho’oponopono, a traditional Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness, as updated and taught by Hew Len and his teacher. At its heart is the idea of taking complete responsibility for everything in one’s experience, including other people’s problems, on the belief that whatever we perceive reflects memories and programs within ourselves. By cleaning these inner memories, the teaching holds, we return to a state of zero, free of limits, where inspiration can flow.
The cleaning method is simple: silently repeating four short phrases expressing love, apology, a request for forgiveness and gratitude, directed toward the divine. Vitale describes how he applied the practice to his own life, business and relationships, and he recounts his conversations and workshops with Hew Len, sharing their questions, doubts and experiences.
Written in an enthusiastic, personal style, the book has attracted many readers interested in spirituality, the law of attraction and personal growth.
Zero Limits will appeal to readers exploring spiritual approaches to well-being. Readers should note that its claims, including those about healing, reflect personal beliefs and anecdotes rather than scientific evidence, that it presents a modern adaptation rather than the traditional Hawaiian practice, and that it is not a substitute for medical or psychological care.
