The Scorch Trials – James Dashner
Thomas and his fellow Gladers thought escaping the Maze would be the end of their ordeal. They were wrong.
Free from the Glade at last, the survivors believe they will finally be safe and given answers. Instead they discover that the world outside is a wasteland, scorched by sun flares and ravaged by a disease known as the Flare, which turns its victims into violent, mindless Cranks. And the mysterious organization WICKED is not finished with them. The Gladers are given a new challenge, the Scorch Trials: cross a hundred miles of burned, lawless territory to reach a safe haven in two weeks. If they succeed, they will be cured. If they fail, they will die.
Facing deadly storms, abandoned cities, Cranks and a rival group of survivors, Thomas must decide whom he can trust, even as his own memories begin to return, his bond with Teresa is tested and his friends start to doubt him. Some of them may not make it to the end.
The Scorch Trials is gripping, fast-paced and full of shocking twists. The second book in James Dashner’s bestselling Maze Runner series raises the stakes and deepens the mystery of what WICKED really wants, and introduces memorable new characters such as Jorge and Brenda.
Perfect for fans of dystopian adventure and action-packed young adult fiction, it was also adapted into a hit film.
