Deon Meyer

Deon Meyer is an internationally acclaimed South African crime thriller author writing primarily in Afrikaans. Before becoming a full-time novelist, he worked as a journalist and press officer, experiences that sharpened his fast-paced narrative timing and social observational skills.

He is best known for his gripping crime novels featuring detective Bennie Griessel, such as Devil’s Peak, Thirteen Hours, and Trackers, as well as his apocalyptic thriller Fever. His works have been translated into over twenty languages and adapted for film and television.

Meyer’s novels combine tense plotlines with incisive commentary on contemporary South African politics and culture. He remains one of the premier voices in contemporary international crime fiction.
