An Author’s Odyssey

An Author’s Odyssey – Chris Colfer

Twins Alex and Conner Bailey have faced many threats in the world of fairy tales, but none as dangerous as the one they face now. The Masked Man, a mysterious villain with a personal connection to their family, has used a powerful magical wand to gather an army of infamous literary villains, and he is preparing to conquer the fairy-tale world and beyond.

An Author’s Odyssey, the fifth book in Chris Colfer’s bestselling The Land of Stories series, follows the twins as they race to stop him. Alex, now training to become the new Fairy Godmother, faces difficult challenges as she tries to protect the kingdoms she loves. Meanwhile, Conner discovers that he has a remarkable new ability: he can travel into the stories he has written himself. To build an army of their own, Conner journeys into his own short stories, recruiting characters he created, from heroes and pirates to space adventurers.

As the twins and their friends prepare for an epic battle, they must learn to work together, believe in their own abilities and discover the true power of storytelling and imagination.

Filled with humor, adventure, magic and familiar fairy-tale characters with surprising twists, the novel celebrates creativity and the idea that anyone can become the author of their own story.

Exciting and imaginative, An Author’s Odyssey is a fantastic read for middle grade readers and fans of the series, best enjoyed after reading the earlier books. Chris Colfer, known for his role on the television show Glee, has made the series a favorite with young readers around the world.
